    Families say they cannot believe the difference. The teen class works on focus, respect, confidence, and social skills without turning the hour into a lecture.

    Self-defense that assumes the other person is bigger.

    It is not only a workout. Teens learn how to protect themselves even when an attacker is bigger and stronger. Colleyville families come here for that training.

    The class is built so a teenager is active, meeting people, and getting better at something hard. Wellness and happiness are the point, not a side effect.

Questions

My teen is not very sporty. Will that be a problem?

No. Plenty of students would have described themselves that way on day one. Instructors keep the teaching simple. Give it some time.

How long until a black belt?

The journey to black belt is an individual one. Everyone progresses at a different pace, and there is no judgment for how long it takes. The self-defense is worthwhile. So are the perseverance, commitment, and discipline that come with staying on the path. The instructors will help you toward a black belt, or toward whatever goal you actually came in with.

What should they bring?

Wear comfortable clothes you can move in, and bring a water bottle. Most students are grinning by the end of class.
